Hi and thanks for visiting my official website.

For those who don't know who I am, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Katrin Felton and I'm a real mermaid!

When I was a child I loved being in the water and after watching “Disney's The Little Mermaid” I knew that I wanted to be a mermaid. I used to sit in the bathtub with my legs together hoping that they would turn into a mermaid's tail.

Unfortunately, this never happened but nevertheless my dream came true and it has become my profession. As a mermaid I am often filmed or photographed whilst swimming alongside the ocean's, mysterious and wonderful, natural inhabitants. I don't use any scuba equipment such as an air tank, mask or a wetsuit – I just have my mermaid tail.

My goal is to inspire children and adults to fulfill their dreams and show them the beauty of the ocean's realm. This world is sensitive and if we don't protect it, all of it's creatures will become mythical one day.

If you want to find out more about my life as a mermaid why don't you swim around my galleries.

did you know that:

  • more people die because of chairs than sharks each year
  • "Fred" the oldest goldfish died at the age of 41 years
  • in Japan 20.000 dolphins are slaughtered, during the selection process for international dolphinariums, every year
  • Penguins can jump up to 2m in the air
  • a plastic bottle needs 450 years to decompose
  • the "Great Pacific Garbage Patch" has been estimated to be twice the size of the continental United States
  • 1 million seabirds, 100.000 sea mammals and an uncountable number of fish die because of the effects of plastic waste every year
  • seaweed is the world's largest oxygen supplier
  • we know more about the moon than about the oceans
  • if our oceans die, life on earth cannot exist
What can you do?

What can you do??

  • Recycle your waste!!
  • Reconsider supporting and visiting dolphinariums and similar attractions!!
  • Don't buy tuna, shark, salmon, swordfish, turbot and plaice
  • Respect the aquatic realm! don't touch anything under water or stand on reefs
  • Watch movies like "The Cove"
  • Reduce your plastic waste by using reusable bags for your shopping and reusable cups for you morning coffee!
  • Don't clean you teeth under running water (you can waste up to 10 litres per minute)
  • If you enjoy diving or snorkeling collect some of the plastic waste during the dive and dispose it correctly when you get back on land
  • Do you have any other tips? Feel free to send me your ideas!
